A private equity firm plans to acquire Enverus, the Austin-based global energy research firm.
After the deal closes this year, San Francisco-based Hellman & Friedman will have majority ownership of Enverus, which has been majority-owned by San Francisco-based Genstar Capital since 2018. Genstar will remain a significant shareholder after the transaction.
“The investment from H&F and continued partnership with Genstar will enable Enverus to accelerate our development of market-leading software and analytics solutions for companies that serve the energy industry,” Enverus CEO Jeff Hughes said in a statement. “The investment is a strong signal in support of Enverus’ growth in predictive analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities.
