    Fieldfisher hires new Head of Funds

    Private funds specialist, Dale Gabbert has joined European law firm Fieldfisher as Head of Funds. He joins from Simmons & Simmons where he was a funds partner since 2014, specialising in private equity, infrastructure, credit and hedge funds.

    Gabbert represents a diverse range of sponsors, from boutiques to banks, on fund establishment and advises sophisticated investors in funds including pension schemes, family offices and sovereign wealth funds. He also assists clients on governance and disputes and handles corporate transactions such as seeding deals, joint ventures, spin outs and acquisitions. Gabbert is known in the market for advising on innovative asset classes, including agricultural commodity infrastructure, art and gambling technology and for his skill in resolving difficult or contentious issues for clients.

    Previously a partner at Reed Smith, where he headed that firm’s Middle East and Africa funds practice, and Nabarro, Gabbert studied law at the London School of Economics and gained a Master of Laws at University of London.
