Former Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) private equity heads Alex Barr and James Witter have launched Bread Street Capital Partners, a global private markets investment house.

Bread Street will offer investors access to a range of private markets portfolios delivering responsible thematic, financing stage of manager exposures, with an initial focus on a series of listed private markets funds.

The firm will provide “complete private markets solutions” to asset managers, including investment advisory, legacy portfolio rationalization, operating framework design and risk oversight services.

“Private markets is the most exciting growth area in asset management yet most investors remain under allocated and miss the opportunity the asset class presents to enhance returns.

“We anticipate that Bread Street will become a key partner for institutional and professional clients who need client driven private markets expertise.”
