BMS Group (“BMS” or “the Group”), the independent specialist (re)insurance broker, today announced the appointment of Trevor Kirsh as Director, BMS Canada Private Equity, M&A division, effective immediately. Kirsh will be based in Toronto and report to Jason Stone, Managing Director of the division, who joined the team in September 2020.

Kirsh will focus on developing the Canadian client network in providing cross-border M&A insurance solutions to clients.

Kirsh was most recently an Associate Senior Legal Counsel at Intact Financial Corporation, where he focused on M&A, insurance regulatory matters and corporate reorganizations. Prior to that, he spent several years as a Corporate and Securities Associate at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and worked in both their Toronto and New York offices.

Brian Gomes, President & CEO of BMS Canada, said: “Our teams have made BMS Canada a market leader in a range of specialty segments and we are committed to ongoing investment in strategic areas such as Private Equity, M&A. I look forward to working with Trevor and Jason’s team in driving continued growth for BMS Canada.”

Stone said: “The current market presents a fantastic opportunity in the M&A space for a client-centric, independent and flexible broker like BMS. Trevor’s experience in corporate transactions and cross-border acquisitions will strengthen our team globally. As our global private equity and M&A team continues to grow, we continue to develop innovative insurance solutions for clients across the world and Trevor’s expertise will compliment those efforts. We are very pleased to welcome him to the team.”
