Amisha Parekh was named managing director and global head of ESG for private equity at alternative manager Blackstone. It is a new position, Blackstone spokeswoman Emilie Stanton said in an email Thursday. Ms. Parekh, who joined the firm’s portfolio operations group Monday, leads private equity-related ESG due diligence, policy development and strategy and reports to Jennifer Morgan, global head of portfolio operations.
Ms. Parekh was previously with news and data organization Bloomberg, where she led ESG data acquisition and curation efforts, according to the Blackstone news release.
As of June 30, Blackstone had $684 billion in assets under management.
